Caprese salad!

That's right. Tomorrow expect a short little caprese salad ditty. No kidding, people. It's so easy to do and now is the time to do it. Don't wait until December when the tomatoes take on their Taco Bell pallor. Nobody likes a pallid Tom. Just ask your local farmer. December is the time for cabbage and potatoes, but August is the time for this:

Caprese salad:

fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil, salt, pepper;

Whoa people, you can't beat it with a stick. Well, I suppose you could, but mamma mia, why would you! Until then, peace...

How many blogs do you have buddy? :-)

I agree it's down to the toms. Nothing like a huge, heavy, gnarly, freakish red-and-green one, which of course we can't get here in the UK. (And nothing good comes out of Holland, I always say). They have a certain strange heaviness to them.

Maybe stick a little chopped garlic on there if you’re feeling CRAZY?

As for mozzarella, I wouldn't know, I've never tried the real thing. Well, I imagine there must be a Platonic Mozzarella somewhere in Italy. What’s it supposed to taste like? I've only tried the rubbery substance that's sold here in little plastic bags filled with whiteish, lumpy water (spills everywhere when opened) and that only a Vegan would enjoy.
