fermented cucumber pickle workshop

Dear local readers...

I am excited to announce that I will be teaching a fermentation workshop this July at Flying Object in Hadley, Massachusetts!  For two summers now, the proprietor there has been munching, crunching, and loving my fermented cucumber pickles.  "Every hipster in Brooklyn is dying to make pickles like these," he said between bites of a zesty & spicy pickle as another hipster died before his crock...

That's correct.  This workshop is actually happening.  Enrollment is $60 and includes a copy of Wild Fermentation, the book that galvanized the home fermentation movement.  For an additional $25, you can also claim your very own, one gallon, American made, stone-ware crock.  The workshop will take place on July 16th and 23rd, from 2 - 4 PM.  We will talk about the critical role fermentation has played in the survival and success of homo sapiens; we will talk about and understand the miracle of bacterial cultures and fermentation; we will learn the techniques and know-how, too.  During the first session, while learning about the how and the why of fermentation, we will prep and start a batch of cucumber pickles that we will harvest and taste during the second session.  Please spread the word.

Workshop enrollment is limited to 10 people and is bound to fill up quickly.  Why not follow this link and register now?

Thank you,

Jono
